R.M.Williams was established in Australia in 1932, at South Australia. R.M.Williams is unique in the bush outfitting business not only because of the comprehensive range of seasonal and authentic products it sells, but because the company is a manufacturer, retailer and wholesaler of these quality goods.

R.M.Williams is a wholly Australian-owned company with a proud history of bush outfitting. For 80 years, the R.M. Williams Company has manufactured quality footwear, clothing and accessories that reflect Australia's true outback spirit and quintessential Australian style. While mail order is still a strong part of the R.M.Williams business, the company now distributes its quality products through an extensive network of retail stores as well as its wholesale business in Australia and overseas.
The company releases two seasonal ranges per year to suit their bush and city customers. These ranges include, Stockyard - Seasonal (men's and women's wear), Big Men's, Longhorn, Colts & Fillies (children's wear) as well as its authentic range of core products that are available all year round.


 The original business inspiration of Reginald Murray (RM) Williams was Dollar Mick. RM first met Dollar Mick back in the early 1930s, when he was camped out in South Australia's Gammon Ranges. Dollar Mick simply joined the Williams family in their open-air home. Inspite of having an age gap of 30 years, both these men built up an incredible rapport. Over the following months, Dollar Mick passed on his vast knowledge of leather working and crafting to RM, teaching him the 'secrets' of outback saddler and the leading stockmen's accessories still prized today. RM later said that this defining experience with Dollar Mick marked the true beginning of his life's work.
